Boeing Defense & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Supplier Quality Specialist supporting suppliers for the East Region Supplier Quality Team in the Western New York geographic area.

This position is located in the Western New York area and requires on-site support of multiple suppliers. Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License and own a vehicle to be used for business purposes.

Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans, organizes and conducts audits/assessments of supplier's systems, processes, and products

  • Documents and reports audit/assessment results

  • Performs product verification to assess compliance to applicable requirements

  • Assesses capability and capacity of suppliers to perform current or potential future work

  • Investigates and resolves concerns to ensure compliance with requirements

  • Provides education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives to develop and improve supplier performance and productivity

  • Performs data analysis to determine engagement strategy at suppliers

  • Reports status of supplier performance

  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage daily assignments

  • Participates in Program and Production Readiness Reviews at suppliers

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills

  • Minimal travel will be required outside of the New York and Pennsylvania areas 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years working in  Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management

  • 3+ years experience in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions

  • 3+ years experience with quality systems (e.g., Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS9100)


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of  experience with First Article Inspections (i.e. AS9102)

  • 3+ years of  experience of Manufacturing Planning

  • 3+ years of  experience reviewing, analyzing, and understanding contractual documents

  • 3+ years’ experience using Excel to perform data analysis

  • 3+ years’ experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings

  • 3+ years experience working with J-STD-001standard

  • 3+ years experience in the Aerospace Industry

  • 5+ years experience performing Material Review Board (MRB) product review

  • 5+ years Supplier Quality processes

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Experience using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) concepts and applications

Travel:

Position may require local travel up to 75% of the time.
