Liquid Personnel is seeking an Experienced Social Worker (3+ years PQE) to join its client's Emergency Duty Team (EDT) in Nottingham. This is a generic, frontline out-of-hours service providing a statutory response to emergency safeguarding concerns for both children and adults that cannot wait until daytime services resume.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Emergency Response: Provide a statutory response to safeguarding worries for children and vulnerable adults during out-of-hours periods (evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays).
- Generic Assessments: Undertake assessments under both Child and Adult Safeguarding procedures, managing high-risk situations independently.
- Referral Management: Receive, prioritize, and record referrals from the public, family members, and partner agencies on the Liquid Logic database.
- Crisis Intervention: Take immediate action to safeguard welfare, including the accommodation of vulnerable children and responding to emergency planning/Business Continuity Plan (BCP) links.
- Specialist Duties: Respond to Mental Health Act (MHA) assessment requests, Child Death processes, and Significant Incident Briefings (SIB).
- Advice & Signposting: Provide expert telephone support, advice, and guidance to citizens and partners, signposting to relevant services where the emergency threshold is not met.
- Case Recording: Ensure all information is accurately recorded on Liquid Logic, providing clear handovers to daytime services for the next working day.
Working Hours and Schedule:
- Team Remit: Out-of-hours only.
- Weekdays: 16:50 – 08:30 hours.
- Weekends & Bank Holidays: 24-hour coverage.
- Base: Loxley House (37 hours per week average).
Our Commitment:
- Statutory Excellence: We provide a vital safety net for the citizens of Nottingham, ensuring that professional social work support is available 24/7.
- Integrated Support: Work as part of a dedicated team that bridges the gap between emergency crisis and long-term casework teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have;
- Social Work England registration and a recognized Social Work qualification.
- Experience Requirement: Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience, ideally with experience in an emergency duty or fast-paced safeguarding environment.
- Generic Knowledge: Ability to work across both Children’s and Adult’s statutory frameworks.
- Driving: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as you will be required to travel both inside and outside the council area.
