Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lean Practitioner to support the BDS Lean Organization in Tukwila, WA.

As a Lean Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in driving Lean initiatives and mindset across the organization. You will be responsible for Lean activities and partnering with stakeholders to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall performance. This position requires an understanding of Lean principles and methodologies, as well as the ability to guide teams and leaders in their Lean journey.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coach and Facilitate Lean activities and initiatives across various programs & functions
  • Teach and apply applicable lean tools (e.g. Problem solving, Kaizen workshops, 3p, Value Steam mapping, Process mapping, 5s) and process analysis to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop, deploy and execute integrated continuous improvement strategy and assist with its strategic deployment
  • Develop and implement Lean training programs for employees at all levels
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement efforts, facilitate cross-team best-practice sharing, and promote replication of successful process improvements across the organization.
  • Utilize data analysis and metrics to measure the effectiveness of Lean initiatives
  • Coach, Mentor and Educate stakeholders in Lean principles and practices
  • Prepare and present reports on progress and outcomes to management
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Lean methodologies

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 6 + years of experience using Lean Principles and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace (e.g. Problem solving, Kaizen workshops, 3p, Value Steam Mapping, Process mapping, 5S)
  • 6+ years of experience working in cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years of experience teaching Lean Principals, Tools and Concepts)
  • Willing and able to work a variable shift (primarily 1st shift)
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and potentially international travel

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Post-secondary education (Associate’s Degree or higher)
  • 6+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 6+ years of Experience in Toyota Production System (TPS)/Boeing Production System (BPS) or equivalent
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
