The Opportunity:
As an Exercise Planning Support Specialist you will have the opportunity to provide senior-level planning and execution support for joint and service exercises in support of I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF). This role supports the full exercise lifecycle, from concept development through execution and after-action reporting, and serves as a trusted advisor to leadership on exercise design, coordination, and readiness outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior-level exercise planning and execution support to I MEF.
  • Support development and management of exercise plans, schedules, and objectives.
  • Coordinate exercise planning activities with internal staff sections and external stakeholders.
  • Support logistics, funding, and administrative coordination for exercises and training events.
  • Participate in planning conferences, working groups, and execution reviews.
  • Analyze exercise outcomes and support after-action reporting and improvement initiatives.
  • Identify risks and issues during exercise planning and execution and recommend solutions.
  • Prepare briefings and reports for senior leadership.
  • Operate independently while delivering senior-level exercise planning expertise.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent military experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in exercise planning or operational training support.
  • Experience supporting Major Command or MEF-level exercises.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in dynamic environments.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Joint or combined exercise planning experience.
  • Familiarity with joint exercise lifecycle processes.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$81,200 - 170,600 USD
