Hourly Pay Range:
$26.61 - $39.92 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
- Position: Exercise Physiologist
- Location: Highland Park Hospital
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Schedule: M-F, 7:30-4:00pm, rotating Saturday and Sunday, and rotating holidays.
What you will need:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an exercise science or a related field (e.g. Kinesiology or Physical Education).
- Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (within 6 months of hire.)
- Experience in cardiac stress testing or clinical cardiology setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular physiology and ECG interpretation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
What you will do:
- Conduct and monitor cardiac stress testing, including treadmill and pharmacologic stress exams, in accordance with established protocols.
- Continuously assess patient response during testing (heart rate, blood pressure, ECG changes, symptoms) and respond appropriately to ensure patient safety.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining test protocols, obtaining relevant history, and ensuring proper electrode placement and equipment setup.
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists, sonographers, and nursing staff to support high-quality cardiac imaging studies
- Recognize and promptly communicate abnormal or critical findings to the supervising physician.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of test results and patient data in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain and calibrate stress testing equipment, ensuring functionality and compliance with safety standards.
- Adhere to all regulatory, accreditation, and infection control requirements.
- Support efficient patient flow and scheduling to optimize lab productivity and minimize delays.
- Provide compassionate patient care, ensuring comfort, understanding, and safety throughout the testing process.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain required certifications (e.g., ACLS, BLS).
