Executive Vice President, People Operations and Insights

Overview
The Executive Vice President, People Operations & Insights is an enterprise leadership role within the People and Capability organization, responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and execution of Mastercard’s global people operations, workforce insights, and people infrastructure. The role partners closely with the Chief People Officer and senior People & Capability (P&C) leadership to ensure scalable, reliable, and insight-driven delivery of core people processes that enable business performance and workforce health. This role operates at the enterprise level with end to end accountability for people operations, people data, HR tools, and operational risk management, while harnessing products, platforms, and AI to ensure disciplined execution and a consistently strong employee experience. This role also serves as a key operator across P&C functions, business leaders, and enabling teams to ensure that people processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with Mastercard’s people strategy, while re-imagining the future at speed and scale. The role reports directly to the Chief People Officer.

Role & Responsibilities
• Own end-to-end operational excellence for the People function, integrating HR technology, shared services, and global service delivery into a seamless, scalable, and employee-centric operating.
• Set and execute the People Operations technology and AI strategy, driving automation, GenAI, and platform modernization across the employee lifecycle to materially improve efficiency, experience, and speed to value.
• Lead enterprise-grade HR analytics and insights, ensuring strong data foundations, advanced workforce analytics, and AI-enabled decision support that inform business strategy, talent outcomes, and operating priorities.
• Design and scale high-performing service delivery models, including shared services, digital self-service, and AI-assisted employee support, with clear SLAs, continuous improvement, and strong stakeholder accountability.
• Embed automation, AI, and process simplification as default ways of working, systematically reengineering HR processes so humans focus on high-value work while technology handles routine, data-heavy, and transactional.
• Partner closely with CHRO, CIO, Finance, Legal, and Risk leaders to ensure HR technology, data, and AI solutions are secure, compliant, ethical, and aligned to enterprise priorities and governance.
• Build and lead a future-ready People Operations leadership team, combining product mindset, operational rigor, data fluency, and AI literacy to continuously evolve the function at scale.

All About You
• Extensive experience leading large-scale, global people operations and workforce analytics in a complex, highly matrixed organization.
• Strong executive judgment and ability to operate at enterprise scale with clarity, rigor, and credibility.
• Proven ability to drive operational excellence, governance, and risk management across critical people processes.
• Deep comfort working with data, systems, and insights to inform strategic decisions.
• Strong partnership skills with senior executives, P&C leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Clear, confident communicator with experience engaging at the executive and board-adjacent level.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive outcomes with discipline and transparency.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
