Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a EXECUTIVE SUPPORT AND RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR, Position Description Number T6002100 and is part of the 224 ADG, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Veterans' preference does not apply to this vacancy due to internal merit promotion.

Major Duties:

  • As a EXECUTIVE SUPPORT AND RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR, GS-0301-13, you will serve as the Director of Staff for all operational and administrative areas for the Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) including Sector operations, support, and geographically separated detachments. This includes serving in the capacity of supervisor 224 Air Defense Group (ADG) civilian positions including but not limited to Community Manager, Safety, Budget Office, Exercise and Analysis, Drill Status Guardsmen (DSG) Public Affairs Officer, DSG Judge Advocate, and DSG Information Protection Officer.

Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Experience exercising supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Experience planning, organizing, and overseeing EADS staff functions, providing executive leadership and management of processes and coordination with New York ANG, Numbered Air Force (NAF), National Guard Bureau (NGB), and Major Command (USAF) (MAJCOM) level entities. Note: Completion of courses such as the Officer Advanced Course, Squadron Officer School, Command and Staff College, Air and Army War College, National Security Management Course and others of comparable level will be credited at the rate of 2 months of specialized experience.
