The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Executive Services Specialist, performing various administrative duties in support of the Group. The Group Commander has overall management responsibility for the function and activities of the Group.

Major Duties:

  • Serves as the executive advisor on programs and initiatives within the group Plans and organizes executive support services, functions, and activities. Performs studies to determine mission support requirements. Performs a variety of studies relating to management of various programs, both in general evaluation of program effectiveness and in reply to requirements imposed by higher headquarters. Serves as focal point for and provides quality control review of civilian and military personnel management activities including training, performance appraisals, awards and decorations and other related areas. Maintains supervisor's calendar, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings and/or conferences including those involving staff from outside the immediate office. Independently notes and follows up on commitments made at meetings and conferences by staff members. Receives telephone calls, greets visitors, and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits, screening those that can be handled without supervisor's help

Qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have or will have within 120 days, at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent at the GS-07 grade level (or higher) or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience which includes serving as the Executive Services Specialist, performing various administrative duties in support of the Group. Maintains cognizance of the effectiveness and status of Group programs and activities by reviewing program status documents; internal metrics and/or productivity reports; management indicators; inspection, staff assistance, and audit reports; and from visual observations and personal contacts with the group staff and operating personnel. OR EDUCATION: I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: I have less than the full amount of specialized experience required but I have graduate level education with a major or subject area related to the position to be filled. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.Knowledge of Wing and Wing missions, major issues, goals, objectives, and organizational structure. 2.Knowledge of sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems. 3.Knowledge of the theory and principles of management and organization including administrative practices and procedures common to the organization. 4.Requires skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, an resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature. 5.Ability to plan and organize work. 6.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
