JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

*Responsible for facilitating purchase orders, change orders and maintaining purchase order files. 

*When required, provide backup support to purchasing personnel, HR Assistant, Transportation Assistant, Corporate Engineering and Accounting. 

*Monitor vendor's compliance with safety, insurance and liability by keeping vendors current with "Duty to Defend", Insurance Certification and "General Conditions". 

Assist with raw material ordering for safe inventory levels

*Audit purchase orders applying proper criteria (PAP, etc.)  Distributes copy to vendor, accounts payable, receiving, originator, and purchasing copy.  Enter purchase order requisition data as required for all functions. 

*Demonstrate effective communication and organizational skills. 

*Address inquiries from employees, accounting, receiving, and vendors regarding specific orders. 

*Assist in developing and distributing requests for quotations emphasizing competitive bidding. 

*Assist with researching vendors, pricing and sourcing.  Document and monitor increases/decrease for monthly report. 

*Provide training for on-line order requisition entry. 

*Provide administrative support to the corporate engineering group and provide access passes to approved on-site contractors.

*Participate in the safety process by completing safe behaviour audits, Subcommittee participation, safety meetings and audits. Must comply with all rules and regulations

*Responsible for maintaining corrugated print cards, bid preparation, solicitation and notice of award. 

*Use the Adaptive Coaching process for communication, goal alignment, problem solving and career planning. 

 

Qualifications:  

1. Knowledge of PRMS System, Lotus Notes, Microsoft, Quadrant and Intellichief software. 

2.  Communication (verbal and written) skills; interacting with employees, purchasing personnel, outside vendors; development of requests for quotations. 

3.  Organizational skills; processing of purchase orders, maintenance of files, time management, and management of diverse workload. 

4. Minimal with Diploma / Degree in Engg. else other streams with min. 5-6 years Purchase experience. Knowledge of SAP in MM module would be an advantage.
