The Wall Street Journal is seeking an Executive Producer, International to lead its video coverage outside of the U.S. Based in London, this senior leadership role oversees the video teams in London and Singapore, working closely with colleagues in New York and across the newsroom to deliver distinctive, revelatory and news-making journalism.
This position calls for an experienced editorial leader with exceptional production and management skills, a global mindset and the ability to drive ambitious enterprise projects and fast-moving coverage of international news and geopolitics. The ideal candidate will be decisive, collaborative, and deeply invested in producing content that serves WSJ’s core subscribers while also reaching broader audiences across platforms. This role requires an understanding of good storytelling, pacing and building audience connection. A successful candidate must have a proven track record of mentoring, managing and leading a large team across multiple time zones and be able to bring out the best in producers, reporters and correspondents.
The successful candidate will bring sharp editorial judgment and organizational vision to ensure a steady cadence of breaking news, analytical features and enterprise journalism that cuts through the 24/7 information cycle.
Lead, manage and mentor teams in London and Singapore, fostering collaboration, growth and innovation.
Drive coverage of breaking news, international affairs and geopolitics, while programming ambitious enterprise and feature projects.
Shape and refine story ideas, scripts, and edits to ensure high production values and the highest journalistic standards.
Collaborate with newsroom leaders world-wide and partner with the team in NY, along with strategy, product and audience teams to develop distinctive video formats.
Work closely with the rest of the video leadership team to develop new and engaging formats for our journalism and to manage resources efficiently.
Represent and elevate WSJ video journalism on the global stage, working flexibly across time zones and breaking news demands.
Be a positive member of the senior editorial leadership team in London, working successfully with business colleagues in Facilities, Finance and HR.
You have significant experience in a daily video news environment, including managing global teams.
A track record of producing distinctive coverage alongside enterprise work.
Deep knowledge of global politics, economics and current affairs, plus a sharp eye for stories that resonate with WSJ’s audience.
Strategic vision for ambitious coverage and an understanding of platform-specific content, with exceptional editorial judgment, communication and decision-making skills under pressure.
Experience running field teams and producing across the globe, including in high and extreme risk environments.
A demonstrated commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive team culture, with a track record of modeling professionalism, integrity and sound judgment.
An ability to lead by example, setting high standards for collaboration, accountability and constructive communication, especially under pressure, building trust, and resolving conflicts.
Strong script-writing and editing experience under tight deadlines.
Experience with documentary and series development and production.
Experience working with reporters and correspondents to develop a voice and on-camera style
Unrestricted ability to work in the UK.
