Group Audit & Assurance (GA&A) provides independent, objective and risk-based assurance to the Board Audit Committee. We leverage data analytics, automation and AI enabled techniques to deliver forward looking insights that strengthen controls, governance and risk management across the Group.

Reporting to the General Manager, Audit – Financial Risk, the Executive Manager contributes to audit coverage across Treasury and Financial Risk, including traded and nontraded market risk, liquidity, funding and capital. 

You oversee a team of audit professionals to deliver high quality assurance, continuous monitoring and strategic insights. This role draws on technical expertise, stakeholder engagement and the ability to assess complex financial risk frameworks within a prudentially regulated environment. 

Key accountabilities: 

  • Deliver the Financial Risk audit portfolio, covering Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Funding and Group Treasury. 

  • Develop and maintain a risk-based audit plan aligned to emerging risks, regulatory expectations and business strategy. 

  • Coordinate end to end audit activities (planning, fieldwork, reporting and closure) to a high professional standard. 

  • Produce clear, concise and insightful reporting for senior management and the Board Audit Committee. 

  • Share subject matter expertise across GA&A and contribute to groupwide audits. 

  • Support continuous monitoring activities, leveraging data analytics and AI to enhance audit coverage and efficiency. 

  • Review governance, risk management and control frameworks, identifying themes and improvement opportunities. 

  • Build effective working relationships with Line 1, Line 2 Risk, Treasury, external audit and relevant governance forums to support appropriate assurance coverage. 

  • Oversee the development, coaching and retention of audit professionals. 

  • Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement within GA&A audit practices. 

 

We’re interested in hearing from people who have: 

  • Experience across Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Treasury, Financial Risk modelling or validation within Line 1, Line 2 or Internal Audit environments. 

  • Understanding of relevant prudential standards (APS 116, APS 117, APS 110, APS 210, CPS 190). 

  • Experience in valuation and financial instrument modelling, including IFRS 9, IFRS 13 and IFRS 7. 

  • Experience delivering audits or reviews within highly regulated environments. 

  • Strong analytical capability and the ability to develop risk-based insights. 

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders. 

  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, actuarial studies, engineering or other quantitative disciplines.
