JOB DESCRIPTION:
YOUR ROLE AS A:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Executive to provide operational and general legal support across the organisation. This role focuses on addressing legal matters related to operational activities, including airport operations, passenger rights, cargo handling, data privacy, and regulatory compliance. You will support dispute management, legal research, risk mitigation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure the company operates in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal governance standards.
WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:
Address legal issues related to airport operations, passenger rights, cargo handling, privacy data, and other operational matters.
Handle claims, disputes, or legal challenges arising from flight disruptions, delays, or operational incidents.
Collaborate with internal teams to manage insurance claims and liability matters.
Assist in handling aviation, industrial relations, or business-related litigation and coordinate with external legal counsel or relevant third parties when necessary.
Conduct legal research to support internal departments.
Prepare and deliver training sessions for staff on operational legal topics.
Provide advice on corporate governance and compliance related to operational functions.
Contribute to the development and revision of internal policies and procedures.
Assist in identifying and mitigating operational legal risks and escalate issues to the Head of Legal, Corporate Secretary, and Data Protection Officer when necessary.
Stay informed about industry standards and updates in aviation law and other relevant regulations, and prepare guidance for internal reference when regulatory changes occur.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders to address compliance requirements.
Prepare and submit mandatory reports required by authorities, such as LKPM.
Proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, and legal clarity.
Liaise with and support the Contract Division and Corporate Secretary Division for assigned tasks.
Coordinate with relevant departments (e.g., Finance, Commercial, HR) to clarify legal matters or prepare legal documents and mandatory reports required by authorities, excluding contracts.
Liaise with HR to assist in handling industrial relations cases.
Coordinate with Information Security, IT, and other relevant teams to manage data privacy matters.
Conduct weekly meetings with relevant departments to discuss operational legal cases.
Assist in preparing documents for internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
Provide weekly reports to the Head of Legal, Corporate Secretary, and Data Protection Officer, highlighting operational legal issues and ensuring timely communication of critical matters.
WHO YOU ARE:
Bachelor’s degree in Law.
3–5 years of legal experience, particularly in litigation.
Strong skills in legal research, litigation handling, and attention to detail.
Good understanding of relevant laws and regulations, including those related to operational and corporate compliance.
Proficient in English (both speaking and writing).
