Executive Engineer/Senior Engineer (Industry Regulation 1 Department) - Contract

[What the role is]

The Carbon Mitigation Division (CMD) implements regulations, and programs to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions for the industry and household sectors.

Working in CMD, you will be part of a project team tasked to conduct the technical assessment of the eligibility of energy efficient equipment to be whitelisted under the Energy Efficiency Grant.

[What you will be working on]

Your scope of work will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Evaluating technical papers, suppliers test reports and literature to establish robust whitelisting technical criteria

  • Analysing energy consumption data, efficiency ratings, and other relevant metrics to assess the potential energy savings and environmental benefits of whitelisted equipment

  • Evaluating suppliers’ submissions to decide on equipment suitability for whitelist

  • Working with and providing guidance to government agencies on whitelisting

  • Drafting guidelines on whitelisting, energy audits and impact assessment

  • Researching on latest energy/carbon efficient technologies and trends and updating the whitelist periodically

[What we are looking for]

  • Degree in Chemical, Biomedical, Mechanical or Electrical engineering

  • Certification as a Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM), Energy Efficiency Opportunities Assessor, Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer would be a significant advantage.

  • Mature, independent and resourceful

  • Good team player and strong interpersonal communication and writing skills

  • Strong analytical abilities

  • Able to meet tight deadlines and adapt quickly to changes

  • Organised and able to multi-task

  • Highly self-motivated

  • At least 2 years of working experience in any of the following areas:

  • Research on advances in energy efficiency technology in local harbourcraft, construction and/or industrial sectors

  • Develop Measurement and Verification (M&V) methodologies for various industrial systems and conduct energy performance assessment (e.g. based on ISO 50002)

  • Develop and implement energy saving or energy efficiency improvement projects of key industrial processes and systems in one or more of the energy-intensive sub-sectors such as: chemicals, biomedical, water management and utilities; and generic energy intensive industrial systems such as heating, cooling and compressed air systems

  • As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
