Executive - Distribution Requirement Planning

Dhaka, Bangladesh Full time

Role Name - Executive - Distribution Requirement Planning

Grade - WL1A

Role Purpose:
The Distribution Requirement Planner (DRP) at UBL is responsible for end-to-end Finished Goods allocation & deployment across the Bangladesh distribution network (Factories → DC/BDC), ensuring product availability while balancing cost, inventory, and service KPIs.
The role acts as the connecting bridge between Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Business Units (HC/PC/B&W/Nutrition) & Customer Operations.

Key Responsibilities (Expanded for UBL Bangladesh)
1. Deployment & DRP Execution (Kinaxis + SAP ECC)
• Run daily/weekly DRP cycles using Kinaxis and the UBL DRP framework to generate depot wise replenishment plans.
• Translate Demand Plan (DP) signals into optimized primary dispatch plans considering norms, DOH targets, and lane Inter Arrival Times (IAT).
• Allocate stock to DCs/BDCs ensuring the right mix of SKUs, aligned with UBL’s national DRP logic and distribution rendering described in Kinaxis BlueBook. Adjust deployment based on:
o Factory production reliability
o Service risk
o Transportation capacity
o Network priorities
• Perform exception-based planning, highlighting shortages, overages, or misalignments as described in the global model.
2. Cross BU Collaboration (HC, BPC, F&R, Nutrition)
The DRP role requires daily alignment with all four Business Units, especially UBL’s fully integrated planning model:
Key BU engagement points
• HC: Fabric & Home Care fast moving SKUs → require tighter cycle planning.
• BPC: Beauty & Personal Care → more volatile promotions requiring agile DRP.
• Nutrition: Shelf life sensitive categories requiring prioritized flows.
Collaboration Includes
• Weekly BU wise service reviews (DR%, DOH, CCFOT trends).
• Input sharing for Net Demand Planning (NDP) & S&OP.
• Ensuring innovation & transition SKUs have deployment readiness (TLB, substitution logic, network load ability) reflected in UBL Kinaxis improvement agenda.
• Driving cross BU visibility on depot constraints, hero SKU availability, and service recovery plans.
3. Alignment with Customer Operations
The role ensures perfect alignment between DRP output and Customer Operations for both primary and secondary flows.
Key responsibilities:
• Share daily stock status, depot DOH, and service risk signals with CXL and SP.
• Translate promoter/MT activations, distributor uplift plans, and trade promos into deployment priorities.
• Support Customer Ops in delivering top-tier CCFOT performance as reflected in monthly cluster reporting.
• Coordinate with Customer Operations for:
o Order sequencing
o SKU prioritization
o Customer specific allocations during shortages
o Prevention of Business Waste (aligned with UBL’s Waste & Disposal governance)
4. Cross Functional Governance: S&OP / DSR / NPM / Business Waste
S&OP (Monthly)
• Provide DRP insights (service risk, depot DOH, lane feasibility, SKU mix readiness).
• Highlight gaps between DP construct and customer service targets — consistent with UBL S&OP expectations documented in demand planning processes.
DSR (Demand–Supply Reconciliation)
• Present supply constraints & propose mitigation scenarios.
• Align deployment priorities based on latest supply signals.
Innovation Readiness
• Work with BUs, Supply Planning & CS&O to ensure seamless deployment for:
o New launches
o PC changes
o Transition SKUs
• Ensure deployment plan reflects load ability, norms, truck building logic.
Inventory & Service Optimization
• Maintain depot inventory within DOH guardrails and avoid both stockouts & excess.
• Optimize network flows using:
o Inter Arrival Time (IAT) logic
o Network selection, extracted from UBL distribution planning logic.
• Weekly monitoring of:
o Depot velocity
o Ageing risk
o Norm vs. actual DOH
o Secondary forecast quality impact on deployment
• Minimize Business Waste through proactive DOH control and DNP/stock withdrawal governance.
6. Collaboration with Logistics & Outbound Operations
• Align with National Logistics on:
o Daily dispatch priority
o Vehicle load planning
o Lane deviations
o Safety stock management
• Drive service improvement through logistics–planning–CD Ops synchronization as seen in cluster review KPIs.
7. Analytical & Decision Support Responsibilities
• Run RCA for service cuts, transshipment needs and develop action plans.
• Use DRP dashboards, Kinaxis scenarios, inventory visibility tools to recommend:
o Seasonal inventory build
o Depot wise SKU optimization
o Route/product mix adjustments
• Identify cost to serve (CTS) improvements via optimized deployment paths.
