The Executive Director, Transformational Philanthropy Communications will spearhead BILH’s mission by shaping and overseeing the development of sophisticated, tailored donor proposals, stewardship reports, and strategic communications that resonate with high-net-worth individuals and key institutional donors. This role requires an exceptional writer and visionary leader who can distill complex, multidisciplinary organizational goals into clear, impactful narratives that inspire transformational gifts. The Executive Director will take responsibility for crafting comprehensive, customized presentations and proposals for prospective transformational gift donors, working closely with development officers, senior leadership, and program managers to ensure strategic alignment between donor interests and organizational priorities. In addition, this leader will direct cross-functional teams in gathering critical data, financial insights, and program details, transforming them into compelling, donor-focused communications that drive BILH’s success.Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Strategic Communications Leadership: Oversee and direct the development of tailored concept papers, proposals, presentations, and stewardship reports by collaborating with physicians, researchers, administrative leaders, and Development staff to meet the unique needs of transformational-level donors.
High-Impact Narrative Development: Craft compelling, strategic narratives that clearly articulate the health system’s philanthropic vision and priorities, inspiring significant donor contributions and transformational gifts.
Executive-Level Correspondence: Lead the creation and refinement of high-level talking points and correspondence for the President/CEO, Senior Leadership, Chair of the Board, and other key institutional figures, ensuring alignment with donor interests at prospect meetings and special events. Initiative Oversight: Direct the planning and execution of transformational giving initiatives, ensuring all communications are strategically aligned with the organization’s mission and effectively demonstrate the impact of gifts at this level.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and sustain robust working relationships with internal teams to integrate critical data, financial insights, and program details into sophisticated, donor-focused communications.
Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and nurture relationships at all levels of the organization and with external partners to create a cohesive strategy that supports and enhances donor engagement efforts.
Performance Evaluation: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and donor proposals, implementing data-driven improvements to better align with evolving philanthropic and organizational priorities.
Market Insight and Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team by analyzing market trends, donor behaviors, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic communications and engagement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred
Experience: 7-9 years related work experience required in preferably in the area of medical and/or science writing.

Pay Range:
$156,000.00 USD - $229,000.00 USDThe pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
