The Executive Director, ISTS Product Portfolio is responsible for “cross-tower” product management leadership across a large enterprise infrastructure and security portfolio (Infrastructure, Security & Technology Solutions (ISTS) organization). In collaboration with ISTS senior leadership, they are responsible for driving unified product operations across the ISTS tower product teams to enable a best-in-class experience for ISTS internal customers.

In collaboration with ISTS senior leadership, this individual will drive: unified product roadmaps and catalog, resolution of product dependencies across towers, common product operations practices, product portfolio communications with stakeholders, and ensuring successful portfolio/cross-tower product launches. This individual is responsible for coordinating across tower product teams to ensure roadmaps and priorities are informed by data-driven analytics and internal customer feedback. Additionally, they will work with the tower product teams to ensure visibility of product health and progress is tracked in common ways and communicated outwards in a unified fashion. In summary, they will work to unify certain aspects of the entire product lifecycle across the ISTS organization.

This individual will partner closely with many teams and roles across the ISTS organization including: leadership, engineering, architecture, and tower product teams to deliver on portfolio level initiatives. They will also work with the ISTS strategy team to ensure that overall ISTS product roadmaps are aligned to the broader ISTS strategy.

This individual will also manage a small team of product management colleagues. This responsibility includes creating a positive team culture through growing, coaching, and establishing a high performing team.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Roadmaps

  • Drives alignment across the multiple “product lines” (i.e. product towers) in ISTS in collaboration with tower product teams.
  • Partners with tower engineering executives, strategy teams and finance to support product line investments and priorities
  • Creates unified product roadmaps and product catalogs across ISTS towers.
  • Connects the unified roadmap to specific value drivers that contribute to business priorities, objectives and key results, and strategic programs.

Product Operations

  • Works to unify certain aspects of the end-to-end product development lifecycle of multiple product lines including but not limited to: product strategy, product catalog, work tracking, milestone communications, dependency resolution, product marketing communications.
  • Drives common operational processes and use of common tools across multiple tower product teams.

Trend Monitoring and Product Performance

  • Defines and revises Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), aligned to business objectives, for the unified product catalog to highlight critical metrics, socialize progress, and consistently reinforces strategic intent.
  • Works towards common OKRs and other key metrics with tower product leaders.

Cross-Functional Teaming and Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborates with tower product teams to deeply understand their product strategies, customer problems and outcomes in those teams
  • Develops relationships with key stakeholders across the DDAT organization to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure alignment of the cross-tower product strategy.
  • Interfaces and partners with the ISTS Strategy team to align the cross-tower roadmap with strategy, communicate progress, insights, and risks with key stakeholders
  • Collaborates with other executive leaders within ISTS on identifying customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscapes.

Grow and Develop the Team

  • Provides product line-level leadership and sets the direction for team growth and performance in collaboration with senior leaders across Engineering, Design, Technology, and others
  • Understands the hiring market to identify successful candidates with the unique blend of personality and skillset matches
  • Champions strong product management and agile mindsets and values by actively communicating team wins and opportunities
  • Establishes high performing teams by growing and coaching Product Management colleagues and defining team norms on how teams working on this Product operates  
  • Responsible for promoting and setting a customer-centric culture where all teams understand the current performance of the product, opportunities areas and the north star vision, and are monitoring and proactively reacting to key product health metrics and communicating updates.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, Finance, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 15+ years required experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, Consulting, IT, or related field.
  • 10+ years required experience specifically as a Product Management leader
  • Previous experience leading and managing product teams

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior working experience with a software development team in an agile environment
  • Ability to drive cross functional teams to alignment in the midst of ambiguity
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, management, analytical and people skills
  • Data-driven decision making and quantitative analysis skills
  • General understanding of core programming and computer science concepts       
  • Expertise in infrastructure and security
  • Prior experience managing a team of product managers/owners

  • Able to coach and mentor junior team members through direct management 

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$175,100.00 - $334,750.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
