Job Description

Old Mutual is seeking a dynamic Executive to lead Old Mutual’s Digital Channels, driving strategy, innovation, and business alignment. The incumbent will lead the multi-tenant digital platform strategy including Old Mutual's channel propositions, carrying full accountability for platform performance, commercial sustainability and self-funding. This role holds ultimate accountability for the Digital Channels function and the platform strategy on behalf of the GRiD Executive.

The Executive: Digital Channels will operate digital channels as a commercially viable enterprise platform serving the Old Mutual ecosystem while defining the group digital channel strategy and proposition, progressing toward self-funding.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Direction

  • Set and drive the overarching digital platform and channel strategy.
  • Oversee the App, Web, and WhatsApp platforms.
  • Govern the transition from cost allocation to a service-based revenue model.

Commercial Accountability

  • Accountable for the consolidated platform P&L and commercial performance.
  • Approve the platform pricing model and revenue targets.

Leadership & Governance

  • Lead the Thin Leadership layer of 6 direct reports.
  • Sponsor the 'Lean, Agile, Commercially Accountable' culture.
  • Represent Digital Channels in Group Digital Council and Group Technology Forum.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Commerce or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) preferred
  • 10+ years in digital, strategy or commercial leadership roles

Essential Experience

  • Executive leadership of a digital platform or multi-sided marketplace
  • P&L ownership and commercial model design in a digital business
  • Revenue model transition, moving from cost to commercial pricing
  • Stakeholder management at Group Executive level
  • Digital transformation leadership across complex organisations
