Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and strategically minded Executive Associate to join the Group Technology and Transformation (GTT) team. This role goes beyond traditional executive support, you will coordinate functional business operations, drive project delivery, and contribute to strategy formulation and performance reporting that directly enables OML to achieve its business objectives. You will work closely with senior leadership, translating strategic priorities into operational plans and ensuring flawless execution across the function

Group Function: Group Technology & Transformation (GTT)

Reporting to: Group Chief Operating Officer

Strategic Support & Analysis

  • Contribute to strategy formulation and operational planning in consultation with key stakeholders. Assist in interpreting strategic needs and identifying solution recommendations to business challenges. Analyse financial and operational data, market trends, and business performance information to support senior leadership decision-making and the execution of OML's strategic objectives.

Business Planning & Performance Reporting

  • Support the development and tracking of annual business plans, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy. Assist in proposing business targets, headcount budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Contribute to the design and execution of complex reports — identifying patterns and trends and translating these into clear, actionable insights for approval by board-level executives.

Administration & Systems

  • Produce, update, and provide best practice support on complex documents, tools, and departmental systems. Advise colleagues as needed and leverage your expertise to continuously improve administrative processes and workflows.

Correspondence & Document Preparation

  • Prepare tailored letters, emails, complex reports, agendas, and minutes of meetings for approval by board-level executives. Organise and produce high-quality documents

Project Coordination & Execution

  • Assist in the delivery of small- to medium-scale projects within established programme management frameworks. Develop tactical plans for optimising resources, schedule key activities, and ensure integration across different elements of the organisation.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement by identifying key stakeholders and understanding their needs, issues, and concerns. Arrange meetings and events and draft supporting materials to promote understanding, alignment, and commitment to strategic priorities.

Business Meetings & Events

  • Arrange venues, equipment, catering, accommodations, and travel for participants across various locations, ensuring the smooth execution of medium-scale business events.

Work Scheduling & Allocation

  • Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates to achieve expectations within established timelines.

Operational Compliance

  • Identify instances of non-compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory codes within the team. Report and escalate issues as appropriate.

Budgeting & Procurement

  • Track budgets and report variances to senior colleagues. Support procurement activities in line with established systems and protocols.

Personal Capability Building

  • Actively develop your own capabilities through assessment, development planning, formal and informal training, and coaching. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education and professional development.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

  • A 3 year tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Engineering, Strategy or equivalent experience

  • MBA will be advantageous

Experience

  • Consulting experience in a financial services environment

  • General Experience: typically 8+ years in an executive support or operations environment

  • Managerial Experience: 5+ years experience managing or coordinating small teams or workstreams

Advantageous

  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience in financial analysis, data modelling, or business strategy environments

  • Experience working across multiple functional areas (T-shaped profile)

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and their business application

  • Experience in a financial services or large corporate environment
