Position Summary

Specifically, the EA to the Board of Directors who supports the Board Chairman
It is of critical importance that the EA to the Board of Directors has a demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks for various constituencies, promptly respond to requests with an eye on the overall landscape of priorities and make sound judgments based on past experiences combined with the needs of the team. The successful EA thrives in a highly collaborative working environment and is someone who enjoys working with colleagues to brainstorm ideas and resolve challenges – big and small – as a regular part of the workday.
Essential Job Functions
Primary responsibilities for the EA to the Board of Directors include:
- Manage the CEO’s calendar. Schedule and confirm appointments, coordinate meeting rooms when applicable.
- Assist with the management of large, recurring meetings that are “owned” by the Office of the CEO, including weekly “Week in Review” meetings, monthly “Directors+” meetings, quarterly Town Hall meetings, and more.
- Manage the scheduling for monthly Management Operating Review meetings, which are attended by some of agilon’s Board of Directors and members of CD&R, the private investment firm that founded agilon in 2016.
- Travel planning from beginning to end, including researching and selecting airfare, ground transportation and hotel stays.
- Prepare options for all trips, including flight times, train options where appropriate, ground transportation.
- Monitor flights.
- Contingency planning for backup flights/trains.
- Coordinate with private plane operator for selected trips.
- Maintain a spreadsheet to record the private flights for one of agilon’s Founders.
- Organize special events – including including quarterly Board of Directors meetings, quarterly Executive Leadership Team meetings, and other offsite meetings – in all respects, including booking hotel blocks, managing offsite technology needs, meal planning, etc. The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for events management, be a creative thinker with an eye toward fiscal responsibility, and be able to balance the work required to creating special events with the daily needs of managing the Board of Directors work life.
- Liaison to the Investor Relations team.
- Assist with scheduling related to quarterly Earnings Releases, annual Investor Day, and more.
- Conference management: Coordinate with IR on annual conference schedule.
- Populate annual Corporate Calendar with actual and proposed dates.
- Secure lodging/room blocks for conferences with multiple agilon attendees, preferably at conference-based hotels.
- Travel coordination for Board of Directors.
- Expense report management, including the gathering and submitting of all receipts through the company's expense reporting portals.
- Establish working relationships with the office of agilon’s Chairman of the Board, and with the office of one of agilon’s Founders.
Other Job Functions
This role is expected to work autonomously on assigned tasks, reporting back regularly and providing information necessary for decision making. The EA requires minimal supervision and, over time and through demonstration, requires the ability for independent decision making. As such, the EA will:
- Approach all work for the executive proactively, anticipate needs and plan for contingencies as part of the daily workflow.
- Be highly self-directed and have meticulous attention to detail, including follow-up and follow-through on all tasks.
- Represent the mission of the Board of Directors and the overall organization with respect, inclusiveness, professional and polished communication (verbal and written), and a high degree of sensitivity to confidential information.
- Actively participate in regularly-scheduled meetings with the company’s Administrative team. Bring agenda items and ideas for process improvement to the meeting, and participate in New Admin Onboarding programs as requested.
- Understand that no job is too big or too small. Ultimately, the performance goals of the EA should be an extension and reflection of the priorities of the Board of Directors
Required Qualifications
The EA will work in a hybrid fashion, and is required to work in the NYC office when the CEO is there; the split between work-from-home and work-in-office is 100 percent dependent on the CEO’s schedule and fluctuates greatly during the course of the year. The EA is expected to be in the office during weeks of Board of Directors meetings, Executive Leadership Team meetings, and quarterly Earnings Releases. Many months of the year require little regular in-office work.
The EA will have 6-8 years of experience and have expert-level competency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams, along with a high comfort level with other virtual meeting tools, such as Zoom. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Pay Range:
$129,700.00 - $162,100.00
