Job Summary: This position is an Executive Assistant, GS-0301-9/11 working in Boise, Idaho for the US Wildland Fire Service. Major Duties:

  • As a Executive Assistant (Fire), your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Provides high-level administrative and organizational support to ensure the efficient operations of the US Wildland Fire Service Director's Office. Manages complex scheduling, correspondence, and coordination of critical meetings and initiatives. Responsible for applying a wide range of administrative management concepts, principles, and practices to identify, interpret, and resolve complex administrative issues. Manages complex priorities, coordinates administrative activities across offices and agencies, analyzes program and policy issues, and recommends solutions that directly influence USWFS leadership decisions and organizational effectiveness. Oversees and manages executive workflow systems, ensuring correspondence, briefing materials, policy documents, and action items are properly coordinated across program offices.

Qualifications: In order to qualify for this position, you must possess the Minimum Qualification requirements listed below. Only experience and education obtained by 03/13/2026 will be considered. Minimum Qualification requirement for the GS-09 level: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level, or higher, in the Federal service, or equivalent. Examples of specialized experience include: Performs administrative and support functions for an office such as: assisting with scheduling, correspondence, briefings, coordinating daily priorities. Assists with conducting analyses of operational processes. -OR- Successfully completed 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master`s degree or master`s or equivalent graduate degree in a directly related field of study. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. -OR- A combination of specialized experience and education described above. Minimum Qualification requirement for the GS-11 level: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, or higher, in the Federal service, or equivalent. Examples of specialized experience include: Performs high level administrative and support functions such as: assisting leadership with scheduling, correspondence, briefings, coordinating daily priorites. Conducts analyses of operational processes to identify routine issues and recommend solutions. -OR- Successfully completed 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a directly related field of study. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. -OR- A combination of specialized experience and education described above. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary. Working Conditions: Work is performed in a standard office setting.
