[What the role is]
We are seeking a driven and committed candidate who has a strong interest in contributing to Singapore’s environmental public health, by assisting scientific Directors of the Environmental Health Institute (EHI) to manage research programmes. These programmes include chemical pollutants, indoor air quality, environmental surveillance, and others. The job will require you to work effectively with internal and external collaborators and to facilitate the translation of research into public health outcomes. It requires continuous learning to stay up-to-date with scientific developments.
[What you will be working on]
You will be responsible for the following:
- Coordinate the management of EHI’s multidisciplinary research programmes
- Manage EHI’s Intellectual Property portfolio and collaborative agreements
- Communication of research outcomes to a variety of stakeholders
- Planning and management of resources, including procurement and finance
- Development of collaborative agreements
- Design and manage procurement contracts
- Tracking of deliverables
[What we are looking for]
- Degree in relevant discipline or at least 5 years of relevant experience in an applied science research environment
- Experience in managing public health research project(s)/programme(s) will be an advantage
- Able to work independently and lead a team in a dynamic environment
- High capacity for strategic and scientific critical thinking
- Inquisitive, innovative, and resourceful
- Excellent management and organisational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Familiarity with budget management, government procurement, and collaboration agreements will be an advantage
