Everyday Business Banking (EBB) is a key client facing business within the Business Banking (BB) division of the Commonwealth Bank. EBB Finance provides specialist finance services and advice to effectively support the business to enable effective performance management and decision making by various stakeholders. Everyday Business Banking (EBB) is a key client facing business within the Business Banking (BB) division of the Commonwealth Bank.

This role reports directly to the Senior Manager, EBB Finance. The individual will work within the EBB Finance team to provide analytical support and detailed reporting on all aspects of performance management and forecasting to EBB senior leaders. The primary objective of this role is to deliver business performance analysis to assist in the decision-making process. This role also requires involvement in financial accounting, planning and forecasting, financial controls, process improvement and initiatives, including collaborating with all teams in EBB Finance.

Do work that matters

  • Processing manual journals and performing GL reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and packs to communicate updates to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with various finance and business stakeholders to provide driver-based analysis on the impacts of changes in financial results and forecast assumptions.
  • Conduct forecasting using insights and financial analytics for the BB business unit and centre finance team.
  • Participate in supporting strategic initiatives within BB Finance.
  • Develop advanced analytical skills utilising the Group’s data assets to understand and promote business growth.
  • Compliance with group wide policies and delivery protocols

  • High degree of problem solving and analytical ability with a close attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work to deadlines and without supervision
  • SQL, Alteryx and Tableau experience is an advantage
  • Proficiency in all MS Office software, with strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Very strong report-writing skills and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Preferable experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Ability to collaborate & work as part of a team
  • Experience in a busy, time pressured environment
  • Graduate qualifications in a numerate discipline preferably finance/commerce
  • Partial completion/completion of post graduate qualification, CA /CPA or equivalent desirable
