Brisbane, Australia Full time

Job Description :

Who are we?

From humble beginnings to extraordinary futures, Diageo is centred on crafting incredible stories of ambitious possibilities. From our iconic global brands such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Tanqueray and Don Julio, to our local homegrown heroes Bundaberg Rum, Ello and Mr Black, we are a team of pioneers, looking to lead the future of our industry and brands from today. At Diageo, you will be a chosen custodian of our brand portfolio, entrusted with building brands for consumers to celebrate with in the moments that matter. Alongside you will be a group of ambitious, passionate and innovative people, who will help you to achieve extraordinary heights. Together, you will help us create a future worth celebrating.

What will your role be?

As our Events & Sponsorship Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how Diageo shows up across Queensland’s vibrant sport, music, and cultural landscape. You’ll drive the performance, visibility, and profitability of our world-class portfolio by managing a diverse set of partners and ensuring each sponsorship delivers meaningful commercial outcomes. From evaluating new opportunities in a rapidly evolving events scene to enhancing the impact of established partnerships, your work will directly influence how consumers experience iconic brands like Bundaberg Rum, Smirnoff and Don Julio in moments of celebration.

In this highly cross-functional role, you’ll collaborate closely with Marketing, Finance, Supply, Legal and Field teams to bring sponsorships to life from idea to execution. You’ll provide end-to-end account management across your customer base, combining sharp commercial judgement with deep cultural insight to identify where Diageo should invest and where we’ll see the greatest return. If you thrive at the intersection of brand, culture, and commercial strategy, this role offers the opportunity to shape Diageo’s presence at some of Queensland’s most memorable events.

What does this role look like for you?

  • Grow Diageo’s commercial impact by elevating account management standards and contributing to the Business Unit’s Trading Profit targets.
  • Shape and manage significant A&P and sponsorship budgets, ensuring every investment drives brand visibility, experiential excellence and measurable return.
  • Co-create Joint Business Plans and tailored event programs with key customers, aligning commercial and brand objectives to unlock shared growth.
  • Champion the Business Unit’s voice in Diageo’s commercial and marketing plans, ensuring local opportunities are reflected in national strategy.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with major promoters and event venues, influencing long-term partnerships and consistent brand presence.
  • Lead the execution of on-site brand activations, directly or via agency partner to ensure world-class delivery and memorable consumer experiences at key events.

What will you bring to the table?

  • A relevant tertiary degree and a strong commercial approach, with proven success in customer-facing roles.
  • Hands-on experience developing, negotiating and managing sponsorship agreements that deliver measurable value.
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Agility and sound judgement developed through working in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments, including navigating change with confidence.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating effectively across Marketing, Commercial, Finance, Legal or similar functions.
  • Deep knowledge of Queensland’s sport, music and cultural ecosystem, supported by strong industry relationships and an innate sense of emerging opportunities
