A bit about your role

As the Events Lead, you will shape and deliver customer and industry events that bring our marketing strategy to life. You will design experiences hosted by nbn and those we attend, with a clear purpose to educate, influence and empower customers while enabling our partners. Your work will honour nbn’s commitment to connection by ensuring each event is crafted with care, measured for impact and aligned to commercial objectives.

You will take end‑to‑end ownership of the Customer team’s event strategy and delivery, from investment planning and attendee recruitment through to event marketing, resourcing, and thoughtful pre‑ and post‑event communications. You will set attendance metrics, track pipeline and ROI, and evaluate satisfaction to continuously improve outcomes. You will manage suppliers and agencies to execute seamless campaigns to brief, and you will engage and consult key stakeholders so each event lands smoothly and reflects our shared goals. Budget stewardship and rigorous evaluation will sit at the heart of your approach, enabling you to demonstrate the volume and impact of activities that support commercial targets.

A bit about you

You are a collaborative, confident leader ideally with tertiary qualifications in Marketing or equivalent industry experience, and you bring proven experience in a similar role delivering face‑to‑face programs at scale. You have guided external agencies at a senior level and feel at ease building strong, trusting relationships across diverse teams. Your communication is warm and clear, you’re influencing, and negotiation skills are well‑honed, and you navigate complexity with grace and pragmatism.

You pair strong commercial acumen with a gentle, results‑driven mindset. You set meaningful program metrics, optimise return on investment, and translate insights into thoughtful strategies that elevate experience and performance. Highly organised and attentive to detail, you plan, co‑ordinate and follow through from concept to completion, bringing stakeholders with you at every step. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear how you will help us create inclusive, purposeful events that strengthen connections across Australia.
