Summary
Responsible for overseeing and providing complex technical support for performances and events held at the Granville Arts Center, The Atrium and the Plaza Theater.
Pay Range: $15.54 - 19.25 (Depending on qualifications and experience)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Oversee implementation of technical needs for performances and events. Provide expertise how to properly operate all technical equipment used during events.
Ensure all technical equipment is operational and provide on-sight troubleshooting for the Cultural Arts Division.
Manage and maintain the inventory of theater equipment, janitorial supplies and office supplies.
Perform routine maintenance, repairs and installations on technical equipment.
Oversee and provide facility upkeep including cleaning and repairs as needed.
Design and operate lighting and sound for performances and events.
Minimum Qualifications
Two-year college degree
4 years related experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates Degree in Technical Theater, Event Planning, Business Administration and/or Management or a related field
4-6 years technical theater lighting, sound and staging experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Extensive knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in maintenance, minor repairs, usage of chemicals and cleaning solutions
Extensive knowledge of all possible room and technology configurations as well as the times and staffing required
Skill in using theater and/or auditorium sound and lighting equipment
Skill in utilizing tools necessary for technical and custodial work
Skill in utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Ability to move chairs, lift/move commercial grade tables and large technical equipment including lights, speakers, microphones, etc., during event room setup up to 50 lbs
Ability to read and understand lighting, sound and staging specifications
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Class C Texas driver's license
First Aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and AED (automated external defibrillator) certification

The incumbent works in an event center environment; frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Occasional outside work and other physical labor such as standing, walking, bending/stooping, kneeling, crawling through confined spaces, climbing a 20-foot ladder and lifting or carrying a maximum of 50 lbs. Must be able to work safely in an environment containing potentially hazardous electrical equipment and components.
Shift will require availability to work evening and weekend events.
