We have an opportunity for an Event Marketing Manager to join our Charlotte, NC team. You will lead our internal and external event programs within the Pool business. This role oversees tradeshows, hands-on technical training, incentive trips, and annual sales and service summits, delivering high-impact experiences that drive engagement, pipeline growth, and adoption across our portfolio. The manager will strategically plan and execute events end to end—ensuring exceptional attendee experiences, measurable ROI, and disciplined budget management—while leading a high-performing team. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Growth Marketing and is a key contributor to our fast-paced, results-driven marketing organization.
You will:
- Build, lead, and execute Pentair’s event and experience strategy for the Pool business, delivering objective-based, results-driven programs that increase brand awareness, deepen customer loyalty, accelerate pipeline, and drive growth through partner lead capture.
- Plan and execute internal and external events end to end, including tradeshows, hands-on technical training, annual sales and service summits, and customer incentive and rewards trips.
- Direct the strategy, planning, and execution of branded merchandise and customer appreciation items across employee, dealer, and customer audiences, collaborating with a cross-functional committee to deliver consistent, on-brand items at scale.
- Lead all aspects of event planning and execution, including site selection, program design, contract negotiation, budgeting, logistics management, on-site execution, and post-event evaluation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Customer Care, Product, and Demand teams to align event strategy, objectives, and execution.
- Oversee all operational logistics, including vendor and agency management, event staffing, shipping and asset management, show services, catering, meeting space planning, and on-site operations.
- Partner with Product, Demand, and Content Marketing to develop event-specific creative briefs, messaging, product displays, promotions, and supporting assets.
- Establish and own event measurement frameworks, including KPI tracking, post-event reporting, ROI analysis, budget management, and continuous optimization.
- Lead post-event follow-up and lead nurturing efforts in partnership with Digital CX, Demand, Email, and Content teams to convert event engagement into qualified partners and customers.
- Evaluate and implement innovative, digital-first and hybrid event approaches to increase reach, engagement, and efficiency.
- Manage, onboard, and lead vendor and partner relationships to ensure high performance, cost efficiency, and mutual value.
- Manage event-related assets and inventory across Pentair- and third party-owned properties.
- Lead and develop the event team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture aligned to Pentair’s Win Right Values.
- Travel to and attend key events to ensure seamless execution and brand representation.
- Perform other duties as required.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication, Business, Liberal Arts, or equivalent background
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience and success producing high quality, memorable, and measurable events ranging in size from 50 to 5,000 attendees with attention to detail budgeting.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in event management and leading a team.
- Highly skilled in negotiating contracts, implementing cost-savings initiatives, and leading and managing relationships with a wide range of vendors.
- Strategic and creative mindset with a strong eye for innovation, compelling journeys, and storytelling.
- Proven ability to build strong, productive relationships across all levels of the organization, including presenting to and influencing senior executives.
- Calm, highly organized operator with relentless attention to detail and accountability for flawless execution.
- Demonstrated track record of performance excellence, consistently meeting or exceeding business objectives and adjusting course as needed.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects independently in a fast-paced environment with flexibility, resilience, and tenacity.
- Experienced in executing integrated marketing programs, including lead generation tactics and ROI measurement.
- Influencing leadership style with the ability to drive outcomes through collaboration rather than direct authority.
- Strong communicator with exceptional written, verbal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to navigate complex organizations, earning trust and advocacy among cross-functional partners and stakeholders.
- Extremely detailed-oriented with accountability for all tactical deliverables for all events
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related business productivity tools.
- Must reside in Charlotte.
- Travel up to 50%, including global travel, volume may be consolidated during peak season.
- Travel outside of the Monday-Friday business week may be required.
Compensation:
For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $95500 - $177300 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
