Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Lead and execute identified external and internal events, and corporate hosting that deliver an experience that matches WNZL’s brand. Support the Senior Events Manager with execution of the Events strategy (including Digital strategy) across WNZL. This is an exciting and fast paced role which sits within the Corporate Communications & Events Team and the wider HRC team.
Planning:
· Support the Senior Events Manager in the managing of a single view of WNZL events to enable the development, engagement with stakeholders and the management of a consistent approach for WNZL Events
· Liaise with the appropriate stakeholders to deliver specifically allocated events, assigning tasks to Events Specialists as required
· Develop, engage and lead the execution of identified external and internal events and corporate hosting that meets the business and reputational goals of the organisation
· Support the Senior Events Manager to manage identified key WNZL events, including day to day management and leadership of Events Team
· Ability to engage, counsel and strategize with stakeholders on the objectives of an event to ensure best outcomes that meet the business needs.
Execution:
· End to end management of internal and external events – both in person and digital
· Understanding of how the role supports WNZL objectives and events are consistent with WNZL brand framework
· Drive value from budgets
· Ability to juggle multiple projects, delivering to tight timeframes as required
· Work with stakeholders to source and collate post-event results, conduct analysis and prepare reports as required.
· Can create (where necessary) and confidently present concepts back to the business
Financial and compliance management:
· Ensure invoices are received, checked for accuracy, records kept and paid on time
· Maintain and update budgets per project and reporting as necessary
· Ability to negotiate with suppliers, third parties and internal stakeholders to return desired outcome
Preparation of Risk assessment plans, and ensure adherence during planning and execution of events
Executive support:
· Support the Senior Events Manager and Events team in any other day to day operations of their activity as required
· Confidently engage, advise and work with Senior Leaders and the Executive Team to deliver required events
· Coordinate and support cross team liaison and planning activity as required
· Ability to coach Events specialists through the end to end management of both in person or online events
Ability to bring new industry leading thinking into the organisation to drive for ongoing improvements of the Events function.

- Strong knowledge and proven experience within the Event Management industry
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading events, with a can do attitude
- Experience in high value customer events and dealing with senior leaders and Executive Team
- Familiarity with Aventri Event Management system
- Ability to coach a team and share skills and expertise
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Powerpoint (Essential)
