Position Overview

Legends Global Long Beach Amphitheater has an immediate opening for an Event Manager. This role provides professional client service support in planning, organizing, and managing events within the facility. The Event Manager monitors event logistics and coordinates all tasks from the time events are booked through their successful conclusion.

Job Summary

The Event Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing event logistics from initial advancement through load-out and event settlement. This role serves as the primary liaison between the facility and promoters or clients and oversees all aspects of event execution, including concerts, community events, corporate events, family shows, and other live entertainment. The position also provides on-site supervision of events and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the facility liaison to promoters and clients and work with them to understand expectations for successful events.

  • Establish event requirements and logistics based on promoter and client needs.

  • Lead event production meetings with internal departments to ensure operational readiness and proper staffing levels.

  • Communicate event logistics and staffing needs with vendors, contractors, and outside agencies.

  • Conduct site tours for prospective and confirmed clients.

  • Prepare floor plans, seating layouts, and event diagrams using AutoCAD or similar software.

  • Coordinate staffing deployments, equipment rentals, and operational logistics.

  • Prepare event and labor estimates based on event needs and client requests.

  • Ensure contractual obligations and facility policies are followed.

  • Oversee contractors and vendors and ensure compliance with safety standards and applicable regulations.

  • Work with the finance department to ensure timely and accurate event settlements.

  • Complete administrative tasks including work orders, floor plans, event reports, and final invoicing.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, checklists, and training materials.

  • Assist with special projects and events including concerts, activations, sports events, private functions, and corporate events.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in event management, hospitality, business administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Three to five years of experience coordinating or managing events in a venue, arena, amphitheater, convention center, or similar facility.

  • Experience with concerts or live entertainment events preferred.

  • Previous supervisory experience managing stagehands or event staff.

  • Knowledge of event operations, production logistics, and facility coordination.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with AutoCAD or comparable event diagramming software preferred.

  • Experience with event management platforms such as Momentus Elite (VenueOps) or similar systems preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.

  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans, safety procedures, and operational documents.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and interact with all levels of staff and management.

  • Move throughout the facility for extended periods.

  • Stand for long hours during events.

  • Kneel, stoop, reach, crawl, and climb when necessary.

  • Lift or move items up to 50 pounds periodically.

  • Work inside or outside the facility depending on event needs.

  • Work in environments with loud noise, weather exposure, and operational equipment.
