Event Crew Supervisor

Position Summary/Purpose:

  • In collaboration with the department manager, the Event Crew Supervisor will supervise, mentor, and lead the Event Crew and student worker team in daily tasks pertinent to events. The Event crew supervisor will assist and oversee the performance of a variety of unskilled or semiskilled activities related to event logistics such as setup and tear down of all event equipment for arena/campus events. The schedule for this position varies depending on event needs.

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

Successfully complete all essential duties and responsibilities as assigned to The Events Crew Attendant. Successfully ensures completion of all set up sheets and work orders. Oversees quality of and work performance of Event Crew and student workers. Oversees inventory (including but not limited to quantity, quality, cleanliness, organization) Manage payroll and evaluations with senior management assistance. Manages scheduling for Event Crew and student workers with senior management assistance. Manage communication to Event Crew and student workers along side management team. In coordination with department manager determine priorities, identify job requirements, and assign staff to specific jobs and/or projects. Provides effective communication with internal department stake holders to ensure flawless event build out and/or tear down. Other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used and Responsibility

  • MS Office Suite
  • iPad/laptop
  • Hand or power tools such as drills, saws, hammers, screw drivers, wrenches.
  • Forklifts/Scissor lift
  • Golf Carts/Mini Truck

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises full time staff and Student Workers to support department function.

Experience/ Education

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Must have the physical strength and capability to lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds independently as well as push/pull equipment on carts, climb stairs and walk long distances across campus for extended periods.
  • Must have 2+ years of experience with similar work.
  • Must be able read stage/set up configuration documents with good spatial recognition.
  • Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Must work weekends, evenings, holidays as needed.
  • Forklift Certification required.
  • Must pass background investigation.
