Summary of Duties:

The Event Coordinator position assists in the development, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive strategic event and facility management plan for all home athletic events in accordance with NCAA, Pac-12, Washington State University, and State of Washington bylaws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as approved by the Assistant Director of Athletics, Event & Facility Operations. This position oversees game day events and facility operations management for assigned sports/events requiring regular evening and weekend work.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two (2) years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.

  • One (1) year of experience must be in Athletic Event and Facilities Operations or other closely related area of Athletics.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

  • Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management or other relevant field.

  • Experience working with students, coaches, and administrators in a broad range of situations.

  • Experience working with broad event operations.

  • Experience with facility maintenance.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal relations skills.

  • Experience within intercollegiate athletics.

  • Experience that demonstrated the ability to function professionally under high stress, confrontational circumstances.

  • Experience that demonstrates the ability to provide clear information on an impromptu basis to individuals or groups of people.

  • Experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems and situations, consider viable alternatives, engage in creative thinking, and resolve problems both in the long term and on short notice.

  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable rules and regulations, including State of Washington, WSU, Athletic Department, NCAA, and Pac-12 Conference rules and regulations.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime-eligible.


Monthly Salary: $3,495 to $4,653 | Range 39 | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
