Event Coordinator Assistant (FWS/NFWS)

Position Summary / Purpose:
The Event Coordinator Assistant supports the Event Services Department by assisting with the planning, facilitation, and execution of campus events. This position works collaboratively with full-time staff, student workers, and external vendors to ensure successful event operations.
 

Primary Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Essential Functions:

  • Assist full-time Event Coordinators with assigned responsibilities, weekly duties, and designated tasks
  • Support event planning, setup, execution, and breakdown for campus events
  • Provide excellent customer service and professional communication to campus partners and guests
  • Collaborate effectively with student employees, full-time staff, and external vendors
  • Follow directions accurately while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Maintain organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced event environment
     

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • General office equipment
  • Event-related equipment and supplies as assigned
     

Qualifications:

  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to follow directions
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to see tasks through to completion
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Reliable, dependable, and flexible with scheduling
     

Experience / Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student-first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor’s student
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University

Work Environment:
Office building on site. Work is primarily performed indoors, with exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, equipment noise, and dust during event setups.
 

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
