The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced events professional to join us in our Brisbane office.
Please note, this is a 12-month parental cover.
This position combines the responsibilities of delivering and managing client and major staff events in our Brisbane office, with providing support to event deliverables for projects across our Australian offices. Acting as a trusted adviser to the partners, it is an exciting opportunity for an experienced events professional to showcase their innovation, creativity, and events expertise, while having the opportunity to connect with other Business Development and legal professionals within the firm.
What you’ll do
Manage and deliver client and key staff events, including identifying requirements, objectives, and risks, and providing expert recommendations to ensure successful outcomes.
Prepare and manage annual budgets for client and staff events, as well as individual event budgets, ensuring all events are delivered within budget and resources are used efficiently.
Maximize supplier agreements and maintain cost-effectiveness across all event-related activities.
Stay informed on industry knowledge and market trends to enhance event strategies and execution.
Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality and reliability.
Provide advice on Business Development (BD) and Client Strategy programs by aligning event objectives with the firm’s client strategy.
Ensure all events and related activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
What you’ll bring
Enjoy problem-solving, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
Prior experience in end-to-end management and delivery of events within a professional services environment.
Proven ability to work to client briefs and defined objectives, delivering strategically aligned events.
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance client experience, drive efficiency, foster innovation, and improve processes.
Creativity and innovation in developing concepts and translating external trends into impactful events.
Strong negotiation skills with specialist suppliers.
Financial awareness and the ability to manage budgets effectively.
High standards of hospitality service, with the confidence to anticipate and proactively resolve issues.
Ability to think ahead, work under pressure, and meet deadlines, with flexibility in working hours.
Experience with CRM systems (e.g., InterAction) and HTML email distribution software (advantageous).
Formal event management qualifications (preferred).
An innovative mindset, curious about AI and emerging technologies.
