Role Summary
The EUCAN Medical Review Lead is Leadership role accountable for the delivery of timely and high-quality medical review of Pfizer commercial and medical content to ensure adherence to Pfizer policies and standards and prevailing regulations. The EUCAN Medical Review lead is responsible for leading strategic and operational activities for the Medical Review, which may have local/regional and global scope.
Role Responsibilities
Strategic oversight:
Stand-up, operationalize, and Lead a comprehensive Medical Review function within the designated region; geographical scope.
Subject Matter Expert and single point of contact for Medical Review Excellence to enable lightspeed deliverables for Promotional & Medical-to-Medical review objectives
Identify strategic opportunities for service and operations improvements that align with business priorities & building consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making.
Gather and analyze metrics focused on Medical Review utilization and performance; develop compelling and insightful strategic recommendations for leadership and the team.
Partner closely with categories and regional partners to drive active engagement with key Medical and Marketing stakeholders.
Demand management, capabilities development and annual Op Plan exercise for the team
Leads process documentation and improvement, as applicable. Oversee resourcing of projects to ensure subject expertise and skills align with project requirements.
Provide strategy, design and facilitation support for BU marketing and medical leads as required.
Stakeholder Management:
Close engagement and seamless partnership with Commercial and Country Medical Directors, continually working to ensure their needs are met for both promotional and medical-to-medical materials.
Engagement with Category BU medical, Marketing Leadership Teams in Europe and Canada markets as appplicable to ensure smooth workflow for Medical Review services.
Develops and sustains constructive, continuous improvement focused relationship with senior leadership and stakeholders.
Leads communication with different stakeholders and departments for a coordinated structure of functions and workflow, including feedback loops and metrics reporting.
Service expansion:
Operationalize transformative initiatives: Inception of pilot activities of medical review services and drive them to business as usual, with an enterprise mindset.
Processes and workflows developed building efficiencies and value add for the stakeholders.
Lead execution of opportunities against recommendations quickly and with flawless accuracy.
Lead cross-functional / global projects and manage BAU transition.
Create operational processes and practices that drive efficiencies for the Medical Review and associated stakeholders.
Leadership and people management:
Enable and foster a culture of high organizational performance
Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse world class team and foster a culture of excellence
Continuously coach and develop MRE talent
Exhibit strong leadership and suppoet the growth and development of more junior leaders (as applicable)
Collaborate with MRE leadership to ensure appropriate resourcing and strategic alignment.
Organisational Relationships
External – Content creation agencies, vendors, and CoLab.
Internal – Regional Medical Leads, Regional Marketing Teams, Biopharma Ops, Country Medical Directors and other key partners involved in Medical/Commercial content creation.
Required Education and Experience
Education:
MD, PhD/PharmD, and/or Masters/MBA.
Experience:
MD, or PhD/PharmaD, or Masters/MBA with notable relevant experience
Prior experience in leading a team is required.
Extensive experience in promotional and medical material review.
Experience in collaborating with cross-functional Global stakeholders and managing stringent timelines.

Experience in working with different markets that span various cultures, languages, and time zones
Proven track record of delivering business performance
Demonstrated history of leading innovation/transformation
Strong ability to drive collaboration and foster highly productive cross-functional relationships
Demonstrated agility and ability to drive program completion in expedited timelines
Extensive experience in content review.
Master at resourcefulness with ability to keep pace with a highly changing environment.
Full knowledge and understanding of all relevant applicable SOPs
Comfortable to influence without authority, flexibility with the ability to change, external environment, project scope and direction
