ETL Application Support Engineer – ETL & Database (Informatica / Greenplum / Cloud)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer with strong ETL and database expertise. The ideal candidate will primarily focus on production support activities—such as job monitoring, incident resolution, and ensuring stability of critical data pipelines—while also contributing to secondary development and enhancement tasks in Informatica, SQL, and MPP/cloud environments. Experience in financial services and large-scale data platforms is highly preferred.

3 to 8 years of experience in ETL support/development, Informatica, or database engineering.

Required Skills

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in ETL support/development, Informatica, or database engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Greenplum or other MPP databases.
  • Strong SQL debugging and performance tuning skills.
  • Expertise in production support, job scheduling tools, and incident management workflows.
  • Linux shell scripting experience.
  • Exposure to cloud data warehouse platforms (Snowflake, Redshift).
  • Prior experience in financial services or data-heavy applications.

Good to Have

  • Airflow orchestration, Kafka streaming, or enterprise data quality frameworks.
  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting datasets (Transactions, Positions, Corporate Actions, etc.).
  • Understanding of Agile/DevOps practices.

Primary Responsibilities – Application Support

  • Monitor daily ETL batches, scheduled jobs, and data workflows using Informatica and job schedulers such as Autosys/Control-M/Airflow.
  • Perform incident triage, troubleshoot job failures, and ensure timely resolution to minimize business impact.
  • Analyze root causes of recurring ETL or data issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinate with operations, DBA, and environment teams to manage production stability and SLA adherence.
  • Perform health checks, environment validations, and data quality checks across production systems.
  • Support monthly/quarterly release cycles, ensuring smooth deployment and post‑deployment validation.
  • Document support procedures, incident runbooks, and operational best practices.

Secondary Responsibilities – Development & Enhancements

  • Contribute to design, development, and maintenance of ETL pipelines using Informatica.
  • Enhance and optimize SQL queries, functions, and data models in Greenplum/PostgreSQL.
  • Participate in modernization or migration efforts involving cloud platforms such as Redshift or Snowflake.
  • Support performance tuning, data quality improvements, and workflow optimization initiatives.
  • Assist in CI/CD processes and version control using Git.

    Shift Timings: UK Shift : 1 PM - 10 PM IST
