Mechanical Engineer for Helicopter Maintenance Design (d/m/w)
Job Description
Maintenance operations on helicopters are key activities for Airbus customers. In this way, maintenance workload must be optimized in order to maximize helicopter fleet availability and meet customer expectations.
You will be part of "Maintenance & Ground operations" Department, and you will contribute to the Aircraft Maintenance Design, in terms of Human Factors (HF) & Maintainability activities. They permit to ensure safe & efficient helicopter maintenance for the end Customers. The HF & Maintainability team is based in Marignane (France) and Donauworth (Germany); both teams work closely together to harmonize methods and share experiences.
Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Maintainability analysis to check accessibility & feasibility of maintenance tasks and compliance to maintenance policy
Ergonomic and Human Factors analysis to reduce maintenance errors and risks for operators and helicopters
Contribution to maintenance procedures development & demonstration on helicopter for validation
Major Incident investigation and analysis (linked to maintenance)
Analysis and validation of Maintenance Technical Note coming from design office and the equipment suppliers.
Influence system design and integration to ensure compliance to maintenance policy & requirements
Management of subcontractor and project management (time, cost, quality)
Maintainability and ergonomic human factors analysis may be performed digitally (CATIA or Virtual Reality) or on Helicopter through test.
These activities will be particularly focus on H135, H145 civil & military programs.
Desired skills and qualifications
Mechanical engineer specialized in aeronautic mechanics or certified aircraft engineer with experience on helicopters
Basic knowledge on CATIA V5 is essential
Autonomous and organized with a high level of sense of accountability
Experience in project management (budget, planning, coordination)
Good team spirit and a proactive mind
Fluent English is essential
Knowledge on the systems of H135, H145 would be appreciated
Knowledge on ergonomics, VR / AR / mixed reality would be appreciated
