About AXIAL:
Axial is AstraZeneca’s next‑generation, S/4HANA‑powered ERP transformation—streamlining processes, elevating financial management and unlocking real‑time insights worldwide. As a key member of the Axial programme, you’ll help deliver enterprise‑scale change alongside industry experts, directly shaping how we serve patients, collaborate with partners and push the boundaries of science.

About the Role:
The ERP Enterprise Portfolio Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the continued success of our ERP Portfolio Alignment Process. Working closely with the ERP Enterprise Portfolio Lead, this role leads the execution and continuous improvement of the ERP Co‑Existence Assessment (ECA) process to ensure that enterprise initiatives align with the ERP strategy and architecture.

The role partners with IT and business stakeholders across AstraZeneca to proactively identify and manage dependencies between Axial and non‑Axial initiatives. By ensuring projects are assessed for ERP impact before initiation, the role enables effective portfolio governance, reduces risk to the ERP landscape, and supports the successful delivery of Axial alongside the broader enterprise project portfolio.

The ERP Enterprise Portfolio Manager also drives process improvements, strengthens data quality and reporting, and ensures that governance forums are equipped with the insights required to make informed portfolio decisions.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and execute the ERP Co‑Existence Assessment (ECA) process day to day on behalf of the ERP Enterprise Portfolio Lead, engaging with Global IT groups and business functions across AstraZeneca.
  • Evolve the process and drive excellence in data quality and reporting; identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels—from senior leadership to technical teams—to ensure alignment on ERP impacts, dependencies and mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively review upcoming demand in the IT portfolio and partner with Demand Managers to ensure work is taken through the Axial ECA process before projects start.
  • Ensure the team KPI is met (no projects starting without ECA completed).
  • Keep ECAs progressing in a timely manner by engaging Axial SMEs, providing facilitation and support as needed.
  • Provide task management, guidance and support to PSO resource(s).
  • Track and report portfolio progress, highlighting projects with high or medium ERP dependencies and associated risks.
  • Document assessment outcomes, secure stakeholder agreement, and communicate clearly to project teams and governance forums.
  • Facilitate discussions on potential regret and remediation cost impacts with the project being assessed.
  • Prepare materials and support facilitation of the ECA Forum and Enterprise ERP Governance meetings.
  • Deputise for the ERP Enterprise Portfolio Lead when needed.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance portfolio governance, process efficiency, reporting capabilities, and automation across the ERP ecosystem.

  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders across business and technology functions.
