About the Role
Join us as Equity Trader at AIA Investment Management!
We are seeking an Equity Trader to provide best execution and trade allocation across a range of equity and equity derivative instruments in compliance with internal standards, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- To provide equity execution advice and quality execution services to portfolio managers
- To test and provide input into enhancement of AIAIM’s equity and derivatives trading systems, including the inclusion of electronic trading platforms.
- Monitor news flows and market activities and provide feedback to portfolio managers.
- Keep abreast on latest trading practices and tools in the market and promote internally as appropriate.
- Handle administrative tasks in relation to trading such as regular trade performance review meetings with internal stakeholders
- To produce and keep regular trading records in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Help maintain a good relationship with counterparties and conduct broker evaluation.
- Work on ad hoc projects relating to market structure and transition management.
Requirements
- University graduate in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related fields. Postgraduate degree holder preferred
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a trading and dealing operational environment.
- At least 5 years’ experience dealing with solid working knowledge of Asia ex-Japan equities markets, stock exchanges
- Data analytics and Python programming skills would be an advantage, advanced spreadsheet capabilities a requirement.
- Solid technical background and ability to use front office dealing systems.
- Keen interest in technology adoption in the trading arena.
- Astutely compliance and regulatory aware.
- Strong understanding of front office controls and what is required in a large institutional set-up.
- Outcome orientated and performance focused.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to establish constructive working relationships with investment team across AIA platforms.
- Strong team player and enthusiasm to learn
- Good capabilities in multitasking, problem solving, and maintaining close attention to details under pressure
