Job Description
DPR Construction is looking for an Equipment Operator with at least 3 years of experience, to join our team in Raleigh, NC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment such as Excavators and other jobsite equipment (ex. skid steer, loader, compactors, small trenching/etc.) to support Concrete Foundation and site work activities.
- Perform excavation for foundations, trenching, footing prep, backfill, and rough grading to meet plan requirements.
- Load, move, and place materials safely and efficiently (ex. aggregate, spoils, forms/material bundles, tools and supplies).
- Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance checks, and follow all safety guidelines.
- Willingness and ability to perform hands-on labor outside of equipment operation to support carpentry/foundation crews.
- Step out of the equipment as needed to assist the crew, including supporting carpenters and foundation crews with general labor tasks (ex. site prep, layout support, material handling, cleanup, formwork support).
- Help maintain quality and schedule by working efficiently and accurately.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and other trades to ensure safe, smooth site operations.
- Work independently or as directed by the Foreman to meet project goals and production.
Required:
- 3+ years of experience operating an excavator and general construction equipment.
- Experience working around or supporting concrete foundation activities (excavation, footing/grade prep, backfill, compaction).
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety, including working around crews, trucks, and active pours/setting areas.
- Prior commercial construction experience.
Preferred:
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Reading and understanding of blueprints and site plans, including foundation layouts, elevations, and basic grade requirements is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Ability to move heavy objects is often required to remove debris, handle materials, and support carpentry/foundation crews. (Up to 50LB)
- Ability to detect necessary equipment repairs by visually and/or audibly perceiving malfunctions.
- Make fine, highly controlled muscular movements to adjust the position of control mechanisms.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
