Equipment Operator

We are seeking Heavy Equipment Operators contributing to a critical soil salvage and reclamation project in Fort McMurray AB. You’ll work in challenging winter conditions, ensuring safe and efficient operations while maintaining production targets.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Load trucks safely and efficiently; set up dumps for optimal cycle times, windrow, striping and separating of organized materials for the loading units
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities
  • Maintain equipment in excellent working condition, report and log maintenance needs promptly
  • Communicate effectively with team members across different disciplines
  • Follow all site HSE procedures and complete Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA) for all activities

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating front end loaders, dozers, excavators, haul trucks and graders
  • Prior reclamation production experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • CSTS 09, Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or OSSA Basic Safety Orientation (BSO)

Work Conditions

  • Project based position working fourteen days on and seven days off, working 12 hours per day 
  • Travel allowance and camp accommodations would be provided to those who qualify  
  • Work will be primarily outdoors and in various weather conditions 
  • Extended Health & Wellness Benefits provided by CLAC Alberta
  • Anticipated start date: January 2026
