The Equipment Mechanic performs mechanical and basic electrical repair on equipment and cranes, including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and responding to breakdowns. This role also performs welding and fabrication work as needed and supports the maintenance team with additional duties as assigned.
Monday – Friday: 5:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Saturday: 5:00 AM – 12:00 PM
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Three plus years’ industrial maintenance experience or equivalent experience.
Experience in machining, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, plumbing, power transmission (including bearings, gearing, conveyors, fans, shaft alignment, sprockets and couplings), basic electrical, blueprint reading (including interpreting mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics), cranes and troubleshooting/repair.
Experience and proficient use of maintenance equipment and tools including metal working, drill presses, saws, and grinders.
Demonstrated industry standard rigging and lifting procedures.
Ability to operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, pendant and overhead traveling cranes, and aerial lift platforms in a safe and professional manner.
Ability to use a wide range of precision measuring tools including, but not limited to, micrometers and calipers.
Ability to read and understand and follow operating and maintenance instructions
Ability to use technical manuals/catalogs to reference replacement parts.
Ability to use basic math skills
Good written and verbal communication
Proven ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
Demonstrated good housekeeping practices and 5S principles.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrated commitment to safe working behaviors including lockout, fall protection, confined space and mobile equipment operation.
