ACCIONA is looking for an Equipment Manager for its construction business. This position will be based in the Philippines

Job Description

Mission:
Implement the assigned parts of the project within his/her unit/department, in keeping with established procedures, facilitating compliance with established deadlines and coordinating the necessary resources (human and material), so as to contribute to significantly improving the project.

They are responsible for the machines and auxiliary resources owned by the company that are used in the specific units of the construction and that is used in a general manner (formwork, struts, scaffolding, etc.). They must maintain in good condition, repair and inspect the machinery and auxiliary resources. They carry out tasks of support, collaboration and problem-solving associated with the equipment used in the construction process.

  • Develop and implement equipment utilization plans for marine infrastructure projects.
  • Same as above for precast yard and launching gantries (segmental bridges)
  • Support the PM in connection with the decisions to be made regarding acquisition/rental/subcontracting
  • Prepare the forecast as well as cost control follow-up
  • Cooperate with the procurement department to prepare the specifications and review the purchase/rental contracts.
  • Ensure proper allocation of machinery to meet project timelines and specifications.
  • Plan, help during recruitment, and manage the plant team
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all equipment.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Manage procurement of new equipment and spare parts (establish proper workshop management -the workshop falls under the scope, but should be a full organization for that).
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Ensure equipment selection and operation align with marine engineering standards.
  • Provide technical guidance on specialized marine equipment (e.g., dredgers, barges, cranes), precast yard, and launching gantries.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment performance.
  • Monitor equipment-related costs and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Prepare reports on equipment utilization, maintenance costs, and performance metrics.

Required Skills and Competencies

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years (in total) of experience in marine and/or precast yard engineering projects with equipment management responsibilities.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of heavy equipment for marine works, maintenance systems, and asset management software.
  • Certifications: Relevant marine engineering or equipment management certifications preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Key Competencies:

  • Expertise in managing marine/precast yard/launching gantries construction equipment.
  • Ability to develop and implement maintenance strategies.
  • Strong understanding of marine engineering principles and project requirements.
