Main Purpose of the Role

Summarize the main purpose of the role

Provide process engineering support functions to manufacturing operations. Develop, implement and maintain manufacturing systems/equipment in accordance with site quality system and good engineering practices. Operates as sole manufacturing engineering function to provide accurate and timely resolution of issues and provides engineering support and project management for new manufacturing process equipment.

The Opportunity 

This position works out of our Menlo Park, CA location in the Structural Heart division. Structural Heart Business Mission: Why We Exist 

Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease. 

Main Responsibilities

List the main responsibilities this role regularly performs.
  • Work with equipment owners to provide accurate and timely resolution of issues impacting the manufacturing processes.

  • Evaluate, select and order equipment used to support the manufacture of division products.

  • Oversee the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

  • Implement, document, and maintain controlled, repeatable production processes.

  • Create and upgrade equipment operating procedures to be used by manufacturing personnel.

  • Assist in development of qualification and validation protocols.

  • Participate in and/or lead qualification and validation activities.

  • Identify, investigate and resolve production yield issues or equipment reliability issues.

  • Interface with other departments and suppliers to address root cause.

  • Responsible for the reliable operation and technical accuracy of manufacturing equipment/systems.

  • Accountable for identifying and achieving manufacturing scrap targets, and supporting product cost reduction activities.

  • Successful execution of the responsibilities associated with this position results in stable production operations, stable or improving yields and cost metrics, and conformance with site, corporate and regulatory requirements.

Qualification

Education

Education Level: Bachelors Degree (± 16 years)
Major / Field of Study: In Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience / Background

Experience : Minimum 5 years

Experience Details :

  • 5- 10 years experience in a mid volume manufacturing environment to include some or all of the following: Developing and implementing manufacturing and /or qualification procedures, Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, High computer competence including PLC, AUTOCAD and industrial software applications.
  • Experience in the design, fabrication, assembly or maintenance of production tools and fixtures is required. Medical device manufacturing experience preferred, not required.

The base pay for this position is

$85,600.00 – $156,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
