At Nexperia Manchester we are strengthening our Equipment Engineering group by hiring a qualified Engineer to join our team of 100+ skilled professionals. If you have hands-on experience maintaining and repairing specialist semiconductor manufacturing equipment—and a strong continuous improvement mindset—we want to hear from you.

As an Equipment Engineer on our Day–Day–Night rotating shift pattern, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping our high‑volume wafer processing equipment running reliably, efficiently, and safely. You’ll focus on minimising downtime, improving tool performance, and driving continuous improvement across the fab, while maintaining high quality standards, following 5S practices, and adhering to strict health and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preventative Maintenance: Support, plan, and carry out scheduled PMs to keep equipment running at optimal performance.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct maintenance tasks, troubleshoot faults, and perform root cause analysis across a range of diffusion wafer processing equipment for rapid and effective issue resolution.
  • Spare Parts Management: Maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure critical spares are always available when needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in continuous improvement activities to enhance processes, reliability, and technical capability within the Equipment Engineering team.
  • KPI Improvement: Use data insights to identify opportunities for cost‑effective maintenance and performance improvements that help drive KPIs.
  • Relationships: Build productive relationships with colleagues, production teams, and external specialists to maintain smooth operations and effective problem‑solving.
