$77,075.00 - $119,466.00The Epic Cogito Analyst is responsible for building, maintaining and modifying Epic and other third-party or custom reporting tools. The Epic Cogito Analyst evaluates the internal technical needs of the organization and recommends solutions, defines system and functional requirements, performs both programming and analysis tasks on internal business systems, and identifies optimization opportunities. The Epic Cogito analyst possesses a solid understanding of clinical workflows and systems, as well as extensive experience with reporting and analytics tools, particularly within Epic’s Hyperspace tools suite.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Epic Cogito Analyst – Level II is expected to support application implementation and development functions, as well as basic process analysis.
• Conduct analysis of system reporting workflows and processes; employ strong critical thinking skills to ensure end-users are provided with appropriate data to meet reporting needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to product life-cycle management, including build, testing, and communication of regularly released upgrade content
• Provide end-user support, troubleshoot issues, and identify configuration changes and optimization opportunities
• Develop and interpret report specifications based on user or vendor requirements
• Adhere to established standards for report development and change management protocol while maintaining documentation of system changes and enhancements
• Provide on-call, extended weekday and weekend support for on-site and off-site locations, as warranted by critical business requirements
• Maintain confidentiality by using and communicating information only as needed to perform one’s duties
• Perform at or above the Information Technology performance standards
• Fulfill department requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administration notification during periods of absence (personnel illness, vacation, education, etc.)
• Complete other duties or assignments as designated by management
• This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities
• Primary contact will be internal to Information Technology Contact with other Albany Med Health System departments will be limited and in support of job specific activities and participates on project teams
• Contact with vendors will be limited to support calls as needed
• Contact with others outside of Albany Med Health System will be limited to job specific forums/organizations for technical collaboration
Qualifications
• Associate's Degree - required; Bachelor’s Degree - preferred
• 4-6 years of relevant experience in Information Technology/Computer Science and/or clinical healthcare discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience, including report writing and analysis. Proficiency with Cogito Tools and other Report Writer software, such as SSMS is required
• Create content to display Epic data via Radar Dashboards, Reporting Workbench, and Slicer Dicer models
• Experience supporting reporting needs of ancillary applications, such as Cupid, Radiant, OpTime, Anesthesia, Beaker, Healthy Planet and Willow – preferred.
• Understanding of systems development life-cycle management.
• Ability to troubleshoot application issues and communicate effectively with customers to resolve issues.
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming principles, SQL, standardized markup languages and a strong customer focus.
• Ability to manage operational effectiveness and implement systems and updates collaboratively with customers and vendor.
• Ability to effectively recommend, document, communicate, implement, and sustain improvements in processes, procedures and operations.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
