A Day in the Life 
As a Technician, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.   

The hourly compensation range for this role is $18.00 to $22.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.   

Schedule:  Monday - Friday

To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:  

  • Preparation of samples for analysis
  • Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
  • Sample extractions
  • Determining the volume of samples
  • Cleaning of laboratory glassware
  • Maintaining clean laboratory areas
  • Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
  • Courier supplies to and/or samples from client sites
  • Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses
  • Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
  • Dispose of laboratory waste in a safe manner following prescribed procedures
  • Comply with Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Comply with Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

Your Expertise and Skills 

 These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.  

  • High School Diploma or GED.  Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualifications preferred
  • Some lab experience is preferred but not required as this is an entry level position
  • Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety
  • Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)
  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Well organized and have an attention to detail

The physical and environmental requirements below reflect what’s typically needed to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively.   • Sitting, standing, and walking
  • Lifting 50 pounds several times a day
  • Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds
  • Works in an office and/or laboratory environment
  • Often works outdoors and may be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions
  • May occasionally work shifts up to 12 hours in duration
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends based on workload demands.
