What this job involves:
JLL is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist for a fixed term contract until May 2026. This role will be part of the Health, Safety, Security and Environment team for a major national account and will manage the environmental compliance program.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Regulatory Compliance - Liaise with regulators, research standards, prepare submissions, and maintain registries including federal fuel storage tank registry
Hazardous Materials Management - Implement and maintain inventory systems, prepare documentation, maintain logs, and review vendor materials
Auditing - Develop audit plans, organize documentation, track corrective measures, participate in audits, and prepare reports
Reporting - Prepare and update monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory reports
Incident Management - Monitor incident management systems and assist in investigations
Program Development - Research and update safety programs (Asbestos, Confined Space, Halocarbon Release) and conduct hazard assessments
Training Management - Ensure team compliance with required training, maintain training databases, and assess course compliance with legislation
Required Qualifications:
3 years of experience in managing environmental programs and management systems
Relevant post-secondary education in occupational health and safety or environmental studies
Proven success with high hazard prevention programs
Strong regulatory compliance management track record
Vendor collaboration experience supporting safety objectives
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications an asset (CRSP, ROH)
Bilingual (French/English) preferred
Facility operations experience preferred
Claims management experience is an asset
