KBR has an entry level position for a software developer to serve on a Simulation Engineering team at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Johnson Space Center (JSC). The position supports the development, maintenance, and integration of the Training Systems (TS) software systems supporting the External Interfaces in the TS facility.

Responsibilities:
• Candidate must have good problem-solving experience using computer programming and experience in C++ software development.
• Linux or UNIX skills are required.
• Candidate must understand the mathematics and physical science governing spacecraft systems and dynamics (orbital mechanics, aerodynamics, coordinate system transformation, etc.) and Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC) devices.
• Candidate must be able to perform simple and complex software builds and integrate software with other developers.
• Must possess good oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively and coordinate actions with both internal and external customers.

Work & Experience Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree. Software development experience using C++ with UNIX or Linux skills are required. Primary responsibility will be software development, maintenance, and integration of the External Interfaces with Spacecraft models into the TS infrastructure. The applicant will also be responsible for supporting real-time Visiting Vehicles simulation software. Candidate must have programming experience and knowledge in developing software applications. Applicant will work with the users to determine requirements, system limitations, impacts and flight-training readiness associated with the software systems. Knowledge and experience in Python, Qt, Trick, and Agile software development methods are a plus. Applicant must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Strong initiative, teamwork and problem-solving skills are required.
