What you get to do:
- You will support the Creative Show Operations Managers in workforce planning and scheduling. You will also assist in the execution and operation of the Entertainment offerings at Sesame Place Philadelphia while carrying out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. You will also:
- Serve as primary scheduling editor for the Entertainment Department.
- Schedule Entertainment ambassadors in operational and rehearsal shifts in accordance with company policy and based on the line schedules and rehearsal plan set by department leadership.
- Manage Entertainment ambassador time off requests and shift requests.
- Monitor department scheduling email inbox and maintain communication with ambassadors with scheduling concerns and questions.
- Analyze labor and staffing patterns
- Identify trends and make recommendations for process improvement.
- Assist with creating and executing Character Training and Guest Service Training programs within the Entertainment Department.
- Provide support with the hiring, development, and performance evaluation of the Entertainment team, including the assisting with the organization of auditions, interviews, and completion of appropriate paperwork and administering of developmental documentation.
- Provide support for the operations of the Entertainment department, labor/payroll management, adhering to child labor laws, and assisting with operational duties as needed.
- Provide support for the production teams during rehearsals by running rehearsals, providing choreography and show direction, and documenting production information/materials.
- Provide support for the events teams by assisting with event installation, event execution/operation, and strikes as needed.
- Practice safety as it pertains to SEA Best Practices and Standards and all other relevant industry guidelines
What it takes to succeed:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with high aptitude for computer software systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Performance skill in dance, musical theater, or walk around character performance required.
- Choreography or show direction experience preferred.
- Ability to work well on a team and accept feedback from others and direction from Senior Leadership and IP Owners.
- Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds is preferred
- Comfort working under a deadline situation with changing priorities.
- A passion for customer service
- Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
- Active listener with the ability to anticipate guests and ambassadors needs
- Flexibility to perform varied duties
What else is important:
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
- Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes
- Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals and using the proper PPE.
- Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
