The Opportunity
The Enterprise Value Lead is a senior, enterprise-wide role responsible for designing and orchestrating how TC Energy identifies, quantifies, and captures untapped value across operations, capital programs, commercial portfolio, and emerging business opportunities.
This role is not about running projects — it’s about shaping the system of value creation itself. Working in the disciplines of strategy, finance, operations, and digital management, the Enterprise Value Lead translates complex opportunities into investment-grade business cases and guides prioritization decisions that materially impact EBITDA.
What You’ll Do
Value Discovery and Enterprise Diagnostics
- Lead deep-dive analyses across cost structure, capital deployment, commercial performance, and asset productivity to identify significant value opportunities.
- Benchmark TC Energy’s performance against top-quartile peers and best practices to surface competitive gaps.
- Partner with data, digital, and AI teams to mine operational data for inefficiencies and predictive value levers.
- Map enterprise-wide profit pools and value drains, providing a quantified view of potential EBITDA uplift and margin expansion.
Business Case Architecture and Investment Modeling
- Build robust, investment-grade business cases quantifying upside, cost savings, and risk reduction.
- Design financial and strategic scenarios, including sensitivity analyses and risk-adjusted returns.
- Collaborate with BU and finance leaders to validate assumptions and translate technical initiatives into clear economic narratives.
- Serve as the “single source of truth” for financial underpinnings of the transformation portfolio.
Portfolio Prioritization and Capital Allocation Support
- Develop and maintain a value prioritization framework ranking opportunities by value, speed, scalability, and strategic relevance.
- Advise the Executive Steering Committee on sequencing and trade-offs for investment, talent, and technology deployment.
- Recommend acceleration, deferment, or termination of initiatives based on evolving performance and market dynamics.
Value Tracking, Governance, and Re-Diligence
- Design dashboards and scorecards to track realization of value hypotheses over time.
- Conduct periodic re-diligence of initiatives to validate outcomes and recalibrate assumptions.
- Partner with finance to ensure value realization is reflected in forecasts and enterprise metrics.
- Continuously refresh the enterprise value creation roadmap as new opportunities and technologies emerge.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in strategy, investment analysis, corporate development, private equity, management consulting, or enterprise transformation (preferably in energy or capital-intensive sectors).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
- Proven track record of delivering measurable enterprise value through strategic initiatives and portfolio optimization.
- Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and performance metrics.
- Ability to distill complex technical or operational information into actionable financial narratives.
- Experience influencing senior executives and guiding high-stakes decisions without direct authority.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, CFA, CPA, or similar advanced designation.
- Experience integrating data analytics, AI, or digital solutions into business case development.
- Familiarity with regulated infrastructure markets and long-cycle asset economics.
- Lead deep-dive analyses across cost structure, capital deployment, commercial performance, and asset productivity to identify significant value opportunities.
