About your team
General Counsel’s purpose is to protect the interests of customers, members, clients, employees and the organisation and help achieve Fidelity's vision and priorities through the provision of proactive, pragmatic and cost-efficient advice and assurance.
About you
The role is responsible for delivering Risk Management, Operational Resilience, Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Crisis Management in the region, working collaboratively with the Global Lead, other Enterprise Resilience/GBCM team members and local senior management. Supporting the creation and execution of the global strategy is an additional focus of this role.
The position requires an individual who:
· is experienced in delivering all aspects of the BCM lifecycle and leading the response to crisis events.
· has a comprehensive understanding of Risk Management and Operational Resilience.
· has strong networking and inter-personal skills, able to build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels.
· proactively identifies areas for improvement and pragmatic solutions to address them.
· is curious and self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
· demonstrates strong attention to detail, as well as thought leadership; initiative, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
· proactively fosters collaboration across FIL business partners, focusing on cross-company dependencies, common solutions, and enterprise issues; dependencies include Technology, Third Party Risk Management, Operational Resilience, Risk Management.
· is willing to complete some travel.
About your role
Regional Business Continuity
· Point of contact to help ensure: 1) all BCM related matters are implemented as per the global policy and standards; 2) any specific local arrangements or business continuity risks are appropriately managed; 3) global consistency though engagement with other Regional Leads.
· Facilitate/participate in regional BCM and Crisis Management exercises and activities; be inquisitive about those taking place in other regions, providing support if needed.
· Support the development of plans and playbooks that will support the response to disruptive events.
On-Call / Event Management
· Lead the response to crisis events which have the potential to impact our people and/or cause significant business disruption.
· Facilitate the communication between operational leaders and subject matter experts to identify and assess the operational impact of business disruptions, develop action plans for mitigation, and communicate status notifications.
Risk and Resilience Management
· Fulfil the role as regional subject matter expert in Risk Management and matters relating to Operational Resilience, liaising as needed with other members of the team to support compliance with regulations and requirements.
· Assist in the resilience and BCM reviews of critical suppliers that are based in, or operate from, the region.
· Lead or participate in resilience testing and exercising, where required.
Corporate Property Services
· Support the CPS function with responsibilities that require on-site presence, including emergency response planning, fire-related audits and general arrangements.
Business Partner
· Given the seniority of this role, time spent developing and maturing relationships with senior business partners in the region (FIL’s global leadership) will be a significant part of BAU. Information gained will help influence the strategic focus of the team.
· Partner with business areas and regional management to develop continuity strategies for business disruptions.
· Build and sustain trusting, collaborative relationships and alliances across functional, organisational, and geographical boundaries. In addition to the business, key areas include Technology, Third Party Risk Management, Operational Resilience and Risk Management.
· Collaborate with internal business partners and cross-regional/functional teams to define the detail of the process/function identifying and communicating organisational risks to meet stated objectives and, where appropriate, offer alternative and reasonable solutions.
Program Strategy
· Actively support the creation and execution of the global strategy.
· Identify risks and implement remediation plans in line with global standards/strategy.
· Lead/participate in initiatives that support FIL’s Enterprise Resilience and BCM programme, taking into consideration regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
People Management
· There are currently no people management responsibilities.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Management and Function Specific
· Demonstrable experience in a similar role, ideally in a financial or professional services capacity.
· Professional qualifications or certifications in BCM and/or Risk Management.
· In-depth knowledge of multi-hazard Business Continuity Management (BCM), incorporating risks from natural disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, AI risk i.e. Deep Fake deepfake impersonation, cyber threats, and broader operational risks etc.
· Experienced at following policies and creating/following procedures, with understanding of connection to relevant regulations and requirements.
· Strong attention to detail, analytical, organisational, and decision-making skills.
· Strong management skills and productive team player with a proven track record.

· Excellent verbal/written communications and interpersonal skills to provide high quality service to all key stakeholders.
· Ability to work confidently, persuasively, and to gain the respect and trust of other senior managers.
